1836 (1 July) entire letter to London, marked "Via Singapore", showing various rate marks and, on reverse, a fine strike of framed "pinang/post office" d.s. in red, framed "india letter/gravesend" and arrival c.d.s. (26.12), both in red. A fine example of this very scarce and short-lived marking, used only from April 1836 until June 1837. Thirteen examples recorded. Photo
