Persia, Kingdom, Order of the Pleiades (Nishan-i-Haft Paykar), breast Star, 65mm x 68mm, silver-gilt and enamel, hallmark to reverse of pin, toned, slight scuffs and minor cracks and chips to white enamel, otherwise very fine

The Order of the Pleiades was a female-only order instituted by the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. It consisted of three classes, the first of which was reserved for the Shah's consort, the second of which was bestowed upon royal princess or first ladies, and the third being awarded to members of the Imperial Household or other high-ranking women.

The breast Star features a central blue enamel disk with seven stars representing the Pleiades star cluster, which is encircled by a white enamel ring with a further twenty four stars. This enamel is encircled by gold interlocking loops with shell details, surmounted by the imperial Pahlavi Crown.
