John Cecil Russell Barrows was commissioned in 24 July 1897 into the Indian Army and served under service number '4440'. Upon the outbreak of the Great War, he disembarked on 13 October 1914 and served as a Sergeant in the Indian Ordnance Corps. He was attached to the 5th Cavalry Division on the Western Front under new service number '3800'. Barrows died on 18 November 1918 at the rank of Sub-Conductor and is buried in the Beirut War Cemetery; sold together with copied research.
