Horace Parkhouse was born on 19 July 1891 and per the 1911 census was working as an insurance clerk residing at 165 Monks Road, Heavitree, Exeter. He enlisted into the Devonshire Regiment at Exeter on 8 April 1914. He served in India from 9 October 1914 through 22 February 1916 and then was appointed to a Commission on 20 November 1918. In the 1939 Register, Parkhouse was married and living in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and working as an insurance manager. He died at Hertfordshire in 1977.
