British Battles and Medals states 50 Medals and 6 clasps issued to Monarch.

Frederick Tinmouth was born at Bromley-by-Bow on 7 December 1875 and joined the Royal Navy as Boy Class II on 24 July 1891. His first service afloat was with Galatea on 29 August 1893, reaching his majority with Raleigh in December of that same year. He was later promoted Able Seaman with the battleship Sans Pareil.

Posted to H.M.S. Monarch, the guardship at Simon's Bay, South Africa he joined her Naval Brigade ashore, earning a rare six-clasp medal as a result. The ship provided around 250 men for service ashore although few of them saw as much service as Tinmouth. He was present for three major actions, Paardeberg, Diamond Hill - where the Brigade earned just 118 clasps - and Belfast - where they earned just 107.

Leaving Monarch in March 1901, Tinmouth joined Amphitrite in 1901 and his final posting was to the cruiser Terpsichore. He went ashore on October 1905 and was discharged as time expired later that year; sold together with copied research.
