Robert Wilson was a native of Newmarket Street, Cape Town and was born in 1877. A painter by trade, he enlisted into 'C' Squadron, Roberts' Horse on 2 January 1900 and was discharged on account of wounds suffered at the Battle of Sannah's Post (Kroon Spruit) on 31 March 1900. He suffered a shoulder injury when unhorsed which led to an infected wound on his arm. Discharged on account of his wound in June 1900, in September 1900 he was put forward for '...two months on the furlough allowance as a Special Case' by Lieutenant-Colonel Aylmer on account of his services. This was approved by D.A.A.G. Abercrombie; sold together with copied research.
