Edward Sarjeant was born circa 1824 at Northampton. He served as a Private in the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards during the Crimean War. The Grenadier Guards saw heavy action at the Battle of the Alma on 20 September 1854, advancing up the Hill after the Light Division to retake the Russian Battery. After his discharge he received a pension in June 1865.
Sarjeant is confirmed on the Alma and Inkermann roll with entitlement to this medal and those clasps, however the other two clasps are unconfirmed.; sold together with copied research.
