Hanoverian Waterloo 1815 (Lieutenant Heinrich Serges, Landwehr Bataillon Peine), very fine

Peine is located in Lower Saxony, some 16 miles west of Brunswick and 25 miles east of Hanover. During the France & Flanders Campaign of 1815, their Landwehr Battalion served in the 5th Hanoverian Brigade under the command of Major Ludolph Graf von Westphalen and numbered some 24 officers and 587 men. On 18 June 1815 they suffered 8 killed, 3 Officers and 40 men wounded, with 6 men missing.
