MacKay at lower left, blue on yellow and pale blue underprint, depictions of the bank's principal offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, sculptured frieze at lower centre, reverse bank emblem set in ornate guilloches, perforated 'CANCELLED'. This note has been sold through Spink's auctions in the past, and before that, the note was in the archives of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland
