(x) Commercial Bank of Scotland Limited, printer's archival specimen £5, 3rd January 1896, serial number run 12/C 101/1 to 12/C 150/200, blue and yellow on buff underprint, allegorical figures from pediment of Head Office building, value in each corner, bank seal at lower centre, reverse brown, bank building with value in ornate guilloches at left and right, perforated SPECIMEN. This note has been sold through Spink's auctions in the past, and before that, the note was in the archives of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland

(PMS CO 49a for type, Pick S316s, Douglas 38-1s), pencil date 'June 30 96' in top left margin, otherwise good extremely fine and rare
