Royal Bank of Scotland, trial proof set, 1994, a presentation folder containing a set of trial proofs of the portrait plate of Robert Louis Stevenson, prepared for the Royal Bank of Scotland. The set includes 6 embossed, individual portrait proofs made with various papers and inks, as well as two individually presented obverse and reverse proof notes of the 1994 commemorative £1 note for the centenary of the author's death (Pick 358), dated 24th March 1992, serial number B/54 000000. Four sets of trial proofs were prepared for the note, this set is #2 of 4, all of which used an engraving by Alan Dow of Robert Louis Stevenson, hand-printed by Christopher Bacon. The set comes in a hardbound orange and brown marbled presentation folder. Originally owned by Patricia Angles, assistant cashier at the Royal Bank of Scotland, sold at the request of her sole heir,
