William III, Solus (1694-1702), Guinea, 1698, second laureate head right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, six strings to late harp, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, edge obliquely milled, 8.30g, 6h (MCE 180; Farey 410; EGC I, 414; S.3460), softly struck through French shield and with a modest metal flaw to sceptre, some die rub to hair and a scuff to throat otherwise residually lustrous, a bolder very fine
