John 'Lacklands' (1199-1216), 'Short Cross' Pennies (2), Class IVc, Canterbury, Ricard, crude crowned bust facing, rev. + RICARD ON CANT, voided short cross, quatrefoil of pellets in angles, 4h, clipped and porous, mediocre; another, 1207 - c. 1210, Class Vc, London, Ilger, finer portrait, with lentoid eyes and even pelleted curls 2/2, beard consisting of fine strokes, rev. + ILGER ON LVND, as last, 9h, evenly struck and richly cabinet toned, a pleasing very fine; also, Henry III (1216-1272), 'Short Cross' Pennies, Class VII (2), as last, but with 'duck pout' lips, rev. + ELIS ON LVNDE, 10h (S.1356), richly cabinet toned, a pleasing very fine; another, Canterbury, Henri, a last, rev. + hENRI ON CANT, 7h, slight wave to flan, otherwise toned and lustrous, very fine with distinctive Colchester hoard patina; additionally, Voided Long Cross Pennies and Fractions (3), Class 3bc, Norwich, Huge, rev. hVGE ON NORWIC, 2h (S.1363), richly cabinet toned, a bold fine; another, Class 5c, Canterbury, Willem, rev. WILLEM ON CANT, 3h, minor die capping, otherwise toned, fine; also, Cut Halfpenny, Canterbury, a field find with light porosity, fine or marginally better (7)
