The St. George's Challenge Shield 1863, a copper circular trophy, 31.5cm diam., with central St. George slaying the dragon, surrounding this 8 shields of which 5 are engraved, the first engraved (This Second Shield presented to The St. George's Rifles by Messrs Ortner & Houle the first was finally won by Private Rowe 1870), fitted with loop to the reverse for attaching to a wall for display, light polishing in parts, otherwise very fine
