Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (99648 Sjt: C. J. Ramsey. R.H.A.), lightly toned, good very fine
Charles Joseph Ramsey served with 'P' Battery during the Second Boer War and is entitled to a Queen's South Africa Medal 1899-1902 with clasps, Paardeberg, Driefontein and Relief of Kimberley, the medal roll also notes 'Invalided'. He is further entitled to a Delhi Durbar 1911 as serving with "I" Ammunition Column R.H.A. and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in 1912. Ramsey entered the war in France on 11 November 1914 this time serving with 'Q' Battery Royal Horse Artillery. He was commissioned into the Royal Artillery on 16 March 1916 and is further entitled to a 1914 Star Trio.
