B.E.M. London Gazette 2 June 1962, the original recommendation states:
'CLARK was posted to the Flight in January 1961. At that time the unit was part of 653 Light Aircraft Squadron, Army Air Corps. During January 1961 the Flight became Independent and shortly afterwards CLARK was promoted as acting Woll to fill the appointment of Flight Sergeant Major, a rank which he continues to hold. Apart from the normal duties of maintaining discipline, organising duties etc. his new responsibility has been the initial preparation and accounting of the unit 'Q' ledgers and stores. Since this is a self accounting unit and because of the great variety of specialist items held, many being accountable to the RAF who use a different accounting system, a total of seven different accounts have to be maintained.
From January and until early December the Flight was 50% under strength for officers and so CLARK had to carry the stores accounting responsibilities almost entirely by himself. Throughout the year no clerical staff or trained storemen were available to assist him. Due entirely to his hard work, much of it done in his own time, the unit stores and accounts have been accurately and efficiently maintained; a fact which was most favourably commented on in the Flight Annual Administrative Report for 1961. He has also set an extremely high standard in bearing and turnout and by his cheerful efficient manner raised the morale and efficiency of the whole Flight.'
Frederick George Clark enlisted with the Royal Engineers on April 1937 but was discharged on 22 July 1938. Re-enlisting with the Royal Artillery he was attached to the Army Air Corps after the Second World War, later transferred to the Palestine Police; sold together with copied research including the GSM letter of issue confirming the recipient's entitlement along with two Palestine Police Badges and a copy of Palestine Betrayed by Robin H. Martin.
