Benjamin Curtis Winser was the son of Mr P. H. and Mrs E. E. Winser of 18 Bright Street, Blackpool, Lancashire. He was killed when the Anson (LT238) of 7 OAFU crashed 20 yards from Tal-y-bont Farm, Rhyducha, Llanycil, Penllyn, North Wales. The aircraft had been flying just shy of two hours at 8,000 feet. The precise sequence of events is not known but either the port wing outboard of the engine failed and the aircraft went out of control or control was lost, possibly when instrument flying and this led to the structural failure which was the prime cause of the accident. Winser along with Sergeant R. K. Baylor, Flying Officer J. A. Taylor and Pilot Officer K. F. L. Usher all perished. Winser is buried in the Chester (Blacon) Cemetery.
