James Stewart Duncan a 22-year-old tailor from Rockdale, Sydney enlisted in the 19th Battalion on 12 June 1916. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left hand in France on 28 February 1917 and sent to England to recover. Returning to Australia on 1 November 1917, he was discharged on 2 July 1918. He re-enlisted on 31 July 1940 in the Royal Australian Corps of Signals and discharged on 5 November 1945; sold together with copied research.
