A Great War Pair to Corporal E. H. Benning, Royal Artillery, who was additionally awarded a Military Medal and was wounded during his Great War service

Ernest Henry Benning was born at Hillingdon on 1 November 1885, he enlisted on 27 May 1915 and served with 324 Brigade R.F.A.. He was discharged as a result of wounds received on 5 February 1918 and was given a Silver War Badge (324192). His Medal Index Card notes that his Silver War Badge was found in the possession of the Manageress of Slater's Ltd and was returned to the owner on 5 June 1918. Benning died in 1957 and is buried in Chingford Mount Cemetery, Essex.
