Albert Edward Wingrove was born at Kentish Town, London on 5 March 1872. He enlisted into the Royal Navy on 2 August 1914 and served on Victory from the 13 August 1914. He then served on M.F.A. Drina from 14 August 1914 to 11 February 1916 and then served on His Majesty's Hospital Ship Plassy from 12 February 1916. He then served on the Hospital Ship Karapara until 10 February 1919, before transferring to Victory. Wingrove was discharged to Shore on 31 March 1919.
