1914 Star (9605 Pte H. Gibson. Leic.R.); Victory Medal 1914-1919 (9605 Pte H. Gibson. Leic.R.), good very fine (2)
Harry Gibson entered the war in France on 9 September 1914, part of the first detachment of the Regiment to land in France. His name appears on a list of men 'Sick and Wounded' between 5-19 February 1918 although which is the case is not clear. Gibson's medal card states that his medals were forfeited as he had been convicted of desertion, however this was crossed out and the medals were issued with a clasp for his star; sold together with copied research.
