Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, The Nile 1884-85 (130 Pte. T. Hadaway. 2/D. of. Corn: L.I.), pitting and wear, nearly very fine
Thomas Hadaway was born at Hounslow in 1862 and was a blacksmith by trade upon his joining the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry at Aldershot in August 1881. Twice tried for drunkenness, he served in Egypt and Sudan from December 1882-June 1886 (Medal & clasp, Bronze Star) and was discharged the same year. His conduct was rated 'Bad - Addicted to drink.'
