R.); India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Waziristan 1894-5 (4562 Sepoy Yar Din 20th Bl Infy), suspension slightly loose on latter two medals, otherwise very fine (3)
H Thomas served with the 51st Regiment of Foot and was further entitled to the India General Service Medal 1854-95 which he was awarded on 10 February 1881.
William Crook was born circa 1858 in Studley, Warwickshire and worked as a needle filer. He then enlisted into the army and previously served with the 3rd Battalion, Warwick Regiment before he transferred to the 2nd Battalion, Cheshire Regiment on 6 February 1883. Crook served at home between February 1883 - October 1884 but then served in India between October 1884 - October 1887. He then transferred to Burma, serving there between November 1887 - February 1889 before serving at Home for the remainder of his career. He then transferred to the Army Reserve on 5 February 1890 before discharging from service on 5 July 1895.
