Indian Mutiny 1857-58, no clasp (G. Radley, 37th Regt.), very fine

Provenance:
Glendinings, June 1988.

George Radley was born in 1827 at Dulverton, Somerset and joined the 37th Regiment at Wellington in April 1846. The unit served in Ceylon that year and Radley would have shared in the Matale Rebellion in 1847. Transferring to India in the Spring of 1857, they were involved in the sortie at Azimgargh - and possibly the relief of Arrah. Returning to England with the unit in 1861, Radley was discharged in May 1861; sold together with copied research.
