Joseph Antonio Lucien Giroux was born in 1918 in Montreal, the son of Armand and Florestine Giroux and husband of Mary Josephine Losito Giroux. He flew with No. 12 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force and was killed in action on 13 March 1942. Having taken off as an Air Gunner in Wellington Z8578 from Binbrook, Lincolnshire, detailed for a night attack on Dunkirk, they were lost without trace with the loss of the entire crew. Giroux is commemorated upon the Runnymede Memorial.
