Richard James Hall was born in 1921 and enlisted for service with the Herefordshire Regiment on 26 April 1939. A few years later, on 22 January 1941 he transferred to the Reconnaissance Corps. Hall was discharged after the war on 13 March 1946 but later re-enlisted into the Territorial Army on 8 July 1947. His Second World War medals were sent to him at his address at 19 Frederick Avenue, College Hill, Hereford in 1948; sold together with Royal Army Ordnance Corps cap Badge.
