William Henry Franks was wounded in France on 27 May 1940 whilst serving with the 1st Armoured Reconnaissance Brigade. This unit was formed in March 1940 in France from four different cavalry units. He was discharged on 29 December 1945 and his address was given as 13 Drayton Road, Wallasey.
