Robert Ernest Humphry was born circa 1879 at Stone, Buckinghamshire. Having qualified in June 1898, he went to work at University College Hospital, London in October 1898. During the Great War he served in Salonika from June 1917 and in turn claimed a pension having contracted malaria on active service. He was landed as a Captain and had been advanced Lieutenant-Colonel by the War's end. Humphry emigrated to Canada and died at Vancouver in March 1945.
