William Hadley, a 19 year old labourer from West Bromwich, enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment on 26 September 1898 seeing service in South Africa during the Boer War. He mobilized with the 3rd Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment on 5 August 1914 and was sent to France on 12 September 1914. He was discharged time expired on 25 September 1915.
