Fusiliers), private rivets; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian die (2749 Pte William Skirving 21st R.N.B. Fusiliers.), replacement suspension, both with depot impressed naming, note number, nearly very fine (2)

William Skirving was born in Scotland and served with the 21st (Royal North British Fusilier) Regiment of Foot during the Crimean War. He then emigrated to New Zealand and worked at Ballingdon Station near Waikouaiti, Otago. Skirving died in July 1884 and is buried in the Hawkesbury Cemetery.
