General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya (T/22771484 Dvr. J. Stirling. R.A.S.C.), mounted as worn, small edge bruise otherwise toned extremely fine

John Stirling originally served with the Royal Army Service Corps between 5 December 1946 - 22 April 1949 and was on the Z (T) Reserve between 23 April 1949 - 25 September 21951. He re-enlisted at Blackheath, London on 26 September 1951 into the Royal Armoured Corps before transferring across to the Royal Army Service Corps. Stirling served as part of the FARELF between 22 November 1952 - 29 October 1955. He was to serve as part of the BAOR between 5 September 1959 - 30 November 1962 and in Cyprus from 8 October 1964 - 9 April 1965. He transferred to the Royal Corps of Transport on 15 July 1965 and had further service as part of the BAOR between 17 January 1967 - 22 December 1971. He was discharged on 25 September 1973 with the rank of Corporal.
