William Robinson was born in Radcliffe, Manchester circa 1899, the son of William and Elizabeth Robinson of 128 Lever St., Radcliffe. He enlisted at Bury and first served in the Training Reserve Battalion (under number 4/33575) before joining the 7th Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry with whom he reached the rank of Lance Corporal. Robinson served with his unit on the Western Front of the Great War and was tragically killed in action in France at the age of nineteen on 21 August 1918, just a few months before the end of the fighting. He was interred at the Bucquoy Road Cemetery in Ficheux, France, and his pension was claimed by his mother. Robinson is further entitled to a British War Medal; sold together with copied research.
William Stockton served as a Private with the Shropshire Light Infantry during the First World War. He was stationed overseas on the Western Front, where he was killed in action in France on 22 May 1917. Stockton was buried in the Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetery in Arras, France and left behind a widow, Lilian Mary, and two children, Leslie and Wilfred. Stockton is further entitled to a British War Medal; sold together with copied research.
