Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Paardeberg (4186 Cpl. T. Clarke, 2nd Shrop: Lt. Infy.), note incorrect initial, light contact marks and edge bruises, very fine

Frederick Clarke was born at Leamington, Warwickshire in 1875 and attested at Warwick on 11 October 1893. Serving until September 1899 he was posted to the Army Reserve but mobilised again the next month for service in the Anglo-Boer War. Posted to the 2nd Battalion he entered the war on 8 November 1899 and took part in the Battalion of Paardeberg, in which the Battalion played an important role. Returning home on 31 March 1900 he was advanced Corporal on 19 May 1902 and discharged on 10 October 1905; sold together with copied research.
