George Albert Street served with the Volunteer Medical Staff Corps, Manchester. He died on 11 August 1900 from Enteric Fever and Meningitis at the Military Hospital, Cape Town, being one of just three casualties of this unit (Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser, refer).
