Afghanistan 1878-80, 1 clasp, Charasia (607 Pte P. Martin. 9th Lancers.), reverse of clasp strap repaired, very fine

France, Republic Croix de Guerre, reverse dated '1914-1918', fitted with laurel leaf and star, in its case of issue, together with a 1 Franc 1914, an unrelated U.N. Medal for Cyprus, and a Soviet Chernobyl Liquidators Medal, very fine (Lot)

Peter Martin was born at Barony, Glasgow and enlisted into the 9th Lancers on 25 March 1862. He is confirmed with entitlement only for the Charasia clasp and was finally discharged on 29 June 1880. Martin appeared in the Regimental Defaulter book a total of 16 times and was once tried by Court Martial; sold with photocopied service papers.
