Indian Mutiny 1857-58, no clasp (J, Smith 1st Batn, 24th Regt), slightly loose suspension and light edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise very fine

John Smith was born at Agager (written on service papers possibly Alsager), Sandwich, Stafford and attested into the 24th Foot on 1 January 1852. According to the Rolls assembled by Holme, the recipient served at Jhelum and was wounded, it being the only action for the unit during the Mutiny.
