Sweden, Kingdom, Royal Medal for Zeal and Probity in the Service of the Kingdom, named 'Erik Axel Gustafsson', marked Gold 1949 on rim; together with a prize medal, named 'Gunnar Nilsson 1956', small mark on reverse to the first, otherwise very fine (2)

The Medal was instituted by King Gustav IV Adolf in 1803 to be awarded to those who blamelessly managed a public position and demonstrated zeal and honesty as an employee of the state for at least 30 years. The Medal reorganised in 1830 by King Karl XIV Johan and amended again in 1947.
