Julius Seligsohn Netter was born in Berlin, from a prominent Jewish family. He served with the German Army during the Great War and was variously decorated by their Turkish allies. Having sold his business for just 5% of the previous offer due to the tumbling German currency in December 1937, he also had to pay a 25% emigration tax, which meant he escaped to England. Netter was Chairman of the Self-Aid of Refugees group and died in 1964; sold together with various copied notes, extracts and photographs.
