(x) A rare Belgian Second World War propaganda medal 'awarded to cowards' who fled Belgium for the safety of France

Belgium, Cross of the Hare, 3rd Type, bronze, very fine

The front of the medal features a hare running alongside a soldier headed in the direction marked 'Montpelier' by a road sign, enclosed in a ring of text translating to 'He runs faster than me'. The reverse sees a cartoonish Belgian soldier fleeing, having discarded his military effects, with text translating to 'Awarded to cowards 10-23 May' denoting the dates of the German blitzkrieg in Belguim.
