white metal prize in the form of an ornate shield, 70mm x 68mm, engraved 'Fifth Lincolnshire Volunteer Rifles Stamford, presented by his Worshipful The Mayor Richard Bromhead Esq. to Private Edward Monck. Who in Five Rounds at 300 Yards and Five Rounds at 500 Yards obtained 14 Points at the Rifle Contest at Stamford on the 14th & 15th of October 1862. Number of Competitors 29.'; reverse plain, small loop fitted to the reverse, evidence of three fixings since removed on the reverse otherwise very fine
