Thomas Alexander Carlile was born on 17 January 1898 and entered the Great War in France in March 1917 and served with the Machine Gun Corps, 2/7th Rajputs and the 5th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers and was entitled to a British War and Victory Medal pair with M.I.D. oak leaves. His medals were sent to Moorside, Ryton-On-Tyne. He was additionally entitled to a Territorial Decoration. He became a Flying Officer with the General Duties branch of the Royal Air Force on 26 August 1939. He died on 19 June 1981.
