(x) Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., E.II.R. (KX.95209 C.J. Kendrick P. O. S. M. H.M.S. Ranpura.), contact marks and some edge wear, otherwise very fine

H.M.S. Ranpura was originally a passenger and cargo ocean liner that was reacquisitioned for Royal Naval service in the Second World War, being converted into an Armed Merchant Cruiser in November 1939 and fitted with eight six-inch guns. She was assigned to escort duty in the Mediterranean after her conversion until being reassigned to the South Atlantic in February 1940. After serving for a time with the Halifax Escort Force, in March 1941 Ranpura joined a force tasked with transferring gold from Britain to Canada for safekeeping.

She was sold to the Admiralty in 1943, converted to a repair ship, and served as a fleet depot ship during which time she took part in the Suez Crisis of 1956. Ranpura was finally broken up in 1961.
