Sahik Cassim was born in Ceylon and was 18 years old when he enlisted in the Asiatic Artillery Ceylon. He served in Ceylon from 25 November 1880 to 1 May 1904, Mauritius from 2 May 1904 to 10 April 1908. His L.S. & G.C. was awarded in 1899; sold together with copied service papers.
