John Ibbotson a gentleman's servant enlisted as a Private in the 75th Foot on 19 December 1857 serving in the East Indies, Gibraltar, China, Singapore and the Cape of Good Hope. He was promoted to Colour Sergeant on 1 December 1868 and discharged after 21 years' service on 24 December 1878; sold together with copied service papers.
