Danjishaw Ardeshir Patel served in the defence of the Port of Karachi with the 23rd Sind Battalion, Karachi Corps during the Great War (Private No. 757 - BWM only), being awarded his Long Service Medal as per Indian Army Order 556 of August 1929 and the E.M. (India) as per Indian Army Order 792 of April 1942, being also in receipt of the 1937 Coronation Medal.
