Leslie Harcourt Robertson was born at Woolwich on 9 April 1894 and enlisted into the Royal Flying Corps on 2 June 1909. He entered the war in France on 23 July 1915 as an Air Mechanic 1st Class. Robertson was promoted to Flight Sergeant on 13 March 1918 with the trade Aero Rigger and eventually left the service on 18 May 1933 at the Home Aircraft Depot, Henlow Camp, Bedfordshire, to become an insurance agent based in Manchester. He died in April 1977 at Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Note: Robertson has two entries for "Stars", firstly a 1914 Star which lists him as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class disembarking on 13 August 1914 on a roll created at Ruislip on 31 March 1924, this entry is crossed out but additionally notes 'Star retd as Eligible for 1914-15 Star iss'd from R.F.C. /7A 360'. His 1914-15 Star entry noted a Date of Disembarkation on 23 July 1915, this roll was created at Ruislip on 2 July 1919 (typed) and further dated 31 July 1924 (handwritten).
