The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment existed from 1994-2007. They were deployed to Afghanistan with the first troops arriving in September 2005. Prior to their leaving the unit was earmarked for merging into the Rifles. They returned to Britain in April 2006.
