Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue (No. 1129 Trp. Sjt. Mp. S. Donohoe. 1st Drgn. Gds.), engraved naming, very fine

Stephen Donohoe attested with the 1st Dragoon Guards on 13 November 1844. He was promoted Corporal on 26 March 1851, Sergeant on 16 May 1855, Troop Sergeant Major on 6 August 1859, and finally to Regimental Sergeant Major on 27 November 1867. In his long service, Donohoe served abroad for ten years. He was in the Crimea and Turkey for a year and a half, and was then stationed in the East Indies for nearly nine years. He was discharged with a pension at Sheffield on 4 February 1869, after having served for 24 years with the Colours. Donohoe is further entitled to a Crimea medal with a clasp for Sebastopol, as well as a Long Service and Good Conduct medal; sold together with copied discharge papers.
