1920s-30s an archive of European press photographs (c.200+) relating to aviation with photographs of planes and pilots of various nationalities. Includes a group (c.16) relating to August Andree's ill-fated balloon flight launched from Spitzbergen with photographs of preparation, camp, letters from Andree and the eventual discovery of bodies. As is the case with working press images, the frames have been edited, cropped or marked. A most interesting group.
