1879 Receipt from "Choudens pere & fils", signed by Offenbach, to confirm receipt of 3,333 francs as the balance due to him for the fixed payment of the first performance of "La Marocaine", dated two days after the premiere. Possibly the remaining 1/3 of the total sum agreed.
Choudens were a Parisian music publishing house that acquired the rights to later works by Offenbach in the 1870s. A fascinating financial item, with a French 10c revenue stamp affixed. Some faults (26x10cm)
